Thule Continue Sponsorship of Team M.I.Racing
|
Thule, the world’s largest manufacturer of car roof rack systems, roof boxes and accessories, has announced their continued sponsorship for 2007 of Coventry based cycling team MI Racing (Mick Ives Racing), one of the UK’s most successful Cycle race teams.
Thule has now been associated with Mick Ives for over 17 years. Several new sponsors, including Double Dutch Pancake Bar, Weldtite, Townsend Vehicle Hire and Gripgrab, have also joined the team for 2007.
During the 2006 season the successful partnership saw Team MI Racing win over 150 open events all over the UK and Europe. MI Racing is unique in the UK, in that its riders compete in all types of Cycle Race competitions including Road, Track, Time Trials, Mountain Bike, Cyclo Cross, Triathlons and Polaris from January 1st through to December 31st each year. 2007 sees MI Racing entering its 11th Season.
New riders signed to the team for the 2007 season include, Lady Time Trial star, Avril Swan from St. Ives. The team now consists of 25 male and female riders in all age groups from juvenile to veteran and from all over the UK including Northern Ireland. The Team has won seven U.C.I. World Cycling Championships, 2 European Championships, and over 50 British Championships over the past 11 years, a record that no other UK team can boast.
