Thule Encourage Family Cycling Through Bike Week 2009
|
Thule, the world’s largest manufacturer of car roof rack systems and accessories are encouraging family cycling in 2009 by supporting the UK’s largest mass participation cycling event, Bike Week.
Back for 2009 with a new theme; ‘Get more out of life: live local, get cycling’, Bike Week takes place between 13-21st June. To beat the impressive 380,000 participant figures of 2008, Thule are providing top of the range cycle carriers as prizes for registering as an event organiser or entrant on the website, www.bikeweek.org.uk.
Participants have the opportunity to win a ProRide 591, FreeRide 530 or Xpress 790 as Thule donate one a week in the six month run up to Bike Week. There are also incentives for event organisers as they stand the chance to win one of four EuroClassic G5 cycle carriers –one of the top towbar cycle carriers on the market.
Bike Week is funded by various partners across the cycling community, including Cycling England and Sustrans. The national umbrella of Bike Week promotes and encourages communities across the UK to organise and take part in cycling events large and small.
The national network provides all the support necessary to help those hosting events. Materials including posters, flyers, balloons and stickers are free to order – and liability insurance provides up to £10 million security to the event. The new website hosts an Event Organiser Guide, ‘useful contacts’ section and hints & tips pages to help organisers create and promote any range of events from small community rides to large festivals. |
