Thule Announce Record Spring Figures
|
Thule, the world’s largest manufacturer of car roof boxes and accessories has announced record UK sales figures for March and April 2009.
Swedish manufacturer Thule, whose UK head offices are based in Clevedon, Bristol, experienced their best ever March and April sales across their roof box, cycle carrier and water sports carrier transportation ranges. April also proved to be Thule’s second most successful month ever, with the first being pre-recession in July 2007.
Peter Barker, Thule UK’s General Manager commented on the figures:
“It shouldn’t be taken lightly that we are in a recession, but these figures show mid to high end customers are still participating in and spending on leisure and outdoor pursuits – a trend reflected by the buoyant UK holiday market.”
“Positive media coverage, targeted incentives, initiatives for stockists and an increased focus on customer service have all contributed towards achieving these figures during the current economic downturn. Thule hopes these sales successes will continue across the May bank holiday and into summer.”
Thule have also stepped up their marketing and sponsorship activities to support the sales of the brand.
A partnership with Bike Week, consumer holiday discount initiative with Haven Holidays and the support of several professional sports teams and individuals via their Partners in Sport scheme are all aspects Thule have used to keep the leisure equipment transportation brand in the spotlight. |
