Second Year for Thule's Sponsorship of Perranporth Triathlon
|
On Sunday 20th September, up to 300 athletes will run, swim and cycle over 40 km to compete in the 22nd annual Perranporth Surf Challenge Triathlon.
The North Cornwall triathlon, voted runner up in a national poll for events of less than 500 entrants in Triathlon Magazine, encompasses a tough 800m surf swim, a gruelling 35 km hill cycle and finishes with a 7.5km beach and cliff run.
Last year's individual times to beat are Matt Pullen's 01:51:56 and women's race winner Sam Herridge's 02:05:46, whilst the Cycle Logic team won the group event.
Hosted by the Perranporth Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC), the event is sponsored by Thule, the world's largest manufacturer of car roof racks, roof boxes and accessories, for the second year running. Thule will host competitions for spectators to win cycle carriers and award the winning triathletes with car roof boxes and sports transportation equipment.
