A world first for Christmas
|
Electric, or 'e-bikes' have proved popular in 2009, providing a more leisurely alternative to exploring destinations on two wheels. For e-bike fans wanting an alternative gift this Christmas, the world's first electric bike carrier could be the answer.
Thule, the world's largest manufacturer of car roof systems, roof boxes and accessories launched the EuroPower 916 in March to tie in with the growing electric bike market.
E-bikes are wider and heavier than regular bicycles and require special transportation solutions. Thule's answer is a specially designed bike carrier which is wider and can carry heavier loads (up to 60 kg in total).
The EuroPower carries a maximum of two bikes and can be equipped with a ramp for easy loading and unloading of bikes. Like the popular Thule EuroClassic G5 cycle carrier, the EuroPower has a smart tilt function so that the boot can be accessed even with bikes attached. The e-bikes are secured safely to the carrier with a quick-lock moveable frame holder.
Peter Barker, UK General Manager at Thule said: "With new trends developing all the time, Thule aims to be stay ahead of the market with new and innovative products. By producing the world's first electric bike carrier, Thule have once again shown pioneering design is key to retaining their status as a world leading brand."
As with all Thule products, The EuroPower has been tested according to European quality standards and has a five year warranty. |
